Youtube inspired

I have different things I use for inspiration for my nail stuff. I have favorites as well, and I'm sure most of you do as well. For blogs, Kayla Shevonne's is the one I probably look at most. For youtube I watch all sorts of videos, but my favorites are probably Robin Moses & Professional IDQ.

So, I decided that I was going to do a series of manicures (some on my own nails, but mostly on my daughter's) that are inspired by one of the lovely ladies mentioned.

So the first one I want to share is inspired by THIS. Of course her version is SOO much better than mine, but I tried. : ) Now, she uses acrylic paint for a lot of her amazing stuff, I have acrylic paint, but I've never been able to make it work for me the way some of the lovely polish bloggers/vloggers seem to be able to.

I used China Glaze polishes for this, and 1 Zoya polish. We changed the colors up a bit, just a bit.

China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise

This color has been on my wish list for a while, and thanks to a gift card from the hubz that I finally was able to use, I got it! I love this color! It's eye catching without being obnoxious (in my opinion) and it's great. Opaque in 2 coats, but I strongly suggest you take a minute or two between coats to prevent streaking and bald spots. It does dry to a satin finish, but if you want shiny just add some top coat!

My pictures do ZERO justice to this polish.

cherry blossoms

I've done cherry blossoms before, or at least I have attempted them. I've attempted them again, and will continue attempting until I'm 100% happy with them, lol..

Rock Star Guitar Nails

I was feeling utterly uninspired earlier, and that was fixed quickly when I heard my eldest daughter start singing. She is very musically talented, plays several instruments, etc.. etc... Anyhow, I wanted to do a mani inspired by her, and wanted it to be music. I perused the inter-webs for some inspiration and found THIS. Normally I don't intend to duplicate another person's manicure exactly but I sure did try with this one, lol. I didn't need to change anything about it, because it encompasses my daughter to a T. Now, I don't have the skill that the other person did, but I think I did ok for my first try. This will be visited again, and I will improve it.

Another Creation By Lynda review! yay!!

So, I've had these pictures done and ready to post for a few days now. This last week has sucked. Kids are sick, I'm sick, not bad enough that I'd call it a "hell week" but it's been one thing after the other.. Anyhow...

I got some nail mail and it was three new polishes by the lovely Lynda. Two of which I literally squealed about when I opened my package. So here it goes!

First up I want to show two colors inspired by Game of Thrones! She has appropriately named it "Medieval Intrigue Duo"

Winter Has Come has rainbow color shifting glitter, micro rainbow shifting glitter, as well as micro white glitter. I LOVE this polish!! It reminds me of Sally Hansen's Snow Globe, but it is soo much better! I think the micro white glitters gives it a little oomph that Snow Globe is missing.
I couldn't decide what would work best to show off the pretty rainbow shifty-ness of this, so I did something different on each nail. I have shown one coat of this amazing polish alone as well as over CG's Liquid Leather, Fade Into Hue, Dandy Lyin' Around, as well as another of Lynda's polishes, Pink Lemonade.

Born of Dragons has red and black glitters and gold holographic glitters. It's also amazing. I am SO happy I got these!! Again, I didn't know what best to show this glitter with, but I wanted to use nude/light shades to show off the red, black, and gold.  So, I have shown one coat alone and on top of CG's Dandy Lyin' Around, Pelican Gray, OPI's My Vampire Is Buff, and Essie's Marshmallow.

The formula is great. Not nearly as thick as I was expecting, and as I said, these swatches for both are just one coat!

Finally, I have Lynda's Pink Lemonade from her Bon Temps Neon Summer Collection. Now, by the time I got to this color my cold meds were in FULL swing, and I was feeling rather stoned so I was being impatient. The color alone is on the sheer side, but if you put it over white it's amazing....I'd have a better picture of that if I had waiting for the white to at least partially dry, lol. But alas, here's my bad picture. I intend on doing an update with a better photo later. Think Pinky and Ring fingers are three coats of Pink Lemonade alone. The middle finger is what happens when you don't wait for the white to dry before applying the pink, the index finger is better than the middle but again I was being impatient. Now my thumb is three coats with a white tip (uneven as it may be) to show that if you like the pink base on your french manicures, the Pink Lemonade is a GREAT choice for it!

As usual, I LOVE Lynda's creations!!! Why not go like her on FACEBOOK, and stop by her STORE SITE and pick up your own creation by Lynda. You won't regret it!!!

road map nails

Found a Fing'rs kit at Meijer a couple weeks ago that had nail tattoos. Including newsprint style, road map style, and another pattern that I can only describe as zig zag or quilt like. Here's the results....

Creations By Lynda, Cuticle Oil Review

So, about two weeks ago the lovely Lynda sent me some of her new cuticle oil for review. She offers scented and unscented. I received that Plumeria scented, and I didn't know I was a fan of Plumeria until I got the oil, lol. Anyhow, I figured two weeks was a good amount of time to not only review the product but see if it works. I love it! The smell is good, it absorbs quickly, and I personally think it really helped out my cuticles! My nails currently look HORRID! I keep breaking them or they peel and I'm not entirely sure why. My hope is the cuticle oil will at least help in part, and so far it has. I haven't had a hang nail since the first day I used it, and my nails haven't peeled, chipped, or anything else in about a week! I am a happy Tissle.  Here are some photos. Please forgive the nubs and poor condition of my nails, but I'm rather happy with my cuticles!

These were taken on May 1st. BEFORE starting to use Lynda's Oil.

These were taken on May 5th. After 4 days of use, twice a day.

These were taken on May 10th. On May 8th, (my husband's birthday), I started using the cuticle oil just once a day.

And these were taken today. (May 15th).
I noticed a few different things in regard to my nails during this. I went with "naked" nails for 3 days! I haven't done that in over a year! My nails seem shinier and stronger. Now to just get the nubs grown out long enough that I can file the other ones down to the same length.

You can get your own cuticle oil through Lynda's sites.

Zoya Carmen topped with Jade's Vermelho Surreal!!

I have been craving a truly red holo since my polish addiction started. Every red holo i have ever found leans pink or orange or does something that keeps it from being truly red. So, I took the brightest red polish I had, Zoya's Carmen and topped it with Vermelho Surreal. Two coats of Carmen. One of Vermelho Surreal.

And since I promised my 5 year old I would post her red nails too, here's sinful colors sugar sugar

Another Creations By Lynda review!!

I am in love with the Creations By Lynda line! I have yet to see a color that I didn't like, or want to buy. With one exception, and that was remedied so quickly that it's hardly worth mentioning!

The first color I want to show you is called Saints and Sinners. This glitter top coat is beautiful! Small gold and black glitter pieces and just the right amount of holo shifting glitter to make it "POP". I have shown it here over China Glaze's Creative Fantasy. This glitter is inspired by the New Orleans Saints. Some of my family is from New Orleans, so I was super excited when Lynda said she was sending me this for review. I love it.

Next I have "All That Glitters". I loved Saints and Sinners so much I didn't want to take it off, so I used my friend Madison's nails for "All That Glitters" and she had zero complaints, lol. "All That Glitters" is a very pretty gold, silver and holo glitter polish. I've shown 2 coats on my friends nails. No "undies" for it. Just the glitter with a coat of Seche.

Pay no attention to the purple wax on the table lol

Creations By Lynda are great products, and she puts a lot of thought and effort into them. You can purchase your own Creation By Lynda!
